Founder story
(Wayne & Horizon’s mission)
After witnessing the destruction wildfires left in California communities, Wayne founded Horizon Metal Homes with one mission in mind: to rebuild stronger, safer, and smarter. With a background in structural engineering and community resilience planning, Wayne saw an opportunity to introduce steel-framed modular housing as a long-term solution—not just a quick fix.
"We’re not just building homes—we’re restoring lives and preparing families for a safer future."
— Wayne, Founder of Horizon Metal Homes

Horizon Metal Homes (HMH) is a next-generation residential construction company redefining what it means to build safe, affordable, and resilient homes. We specialize in steel-framed, fire-resistant structures designed specifically for wildfire-prone communities.
Our mission begins in Altadena, California, where we’re helping families rebuild after wildfire devastation. By focusing on insurance-funded claims, we’re able to offer cost-efficient, high-quality homes to those who need them urgently. Our approach integrates pre-approved home designs, modular construction techniques, and expedited permitting processes—allowing us to deliver move-in ready homes faster than traditional builders.
At HMH, the term “fireproof” represents our commitment to resilience. While no material is truly fireproof, all our products meet or exceed the highest legal standards for fire resistance. We build with transparency, safety, and innovation at every step. Our phased rollout strategy allows us to expand into wildfire-prone regions across the country. With a growing network of certified contractors, customizable home models, and integrated technology systems, Horizon Metal Homes is building more than just houses—we’re building a smarter, safer future.
